Sophie just gets more beautiful every day. She's now reliable enough that I can let her off leash in the backyard - but still under Strict Mom Supervision.
Puppy with an Ocean View:
She now owns all Misha's toys and the sweet spot in the center of my bed:
She's been here two weeks today and has completely won my heart. She gets fatter and prettier every day. I'm amazed at how quickly she figured out how things work around here - she knows where the treats are kept and where to go potty (more importantly, where NOT to) and just how crazy she can be before I start to get annoyed. We both agree on our favorite thing: cuddle time in the bed at 5AM. Then it's breakfast for her in her playpen on the lanai and work for me down the hall.
She sees our new vet for the first time on Friday. I'm sure she'll make some new friends there.
This is her favorite new toy - a squeaky pistachio ice cream cone from Megan.
Aloha, y'all!
I know it's been a while since I posted here. There was really nothing interesting about all the unpacking that seemed to go on forever, and --truth be told-- there are still a couple of dozen boxes in the garage that I've almost lost interest in. Most recently I targeted boxes with old tax records and anything that might contain a receipt that could be used to increase the cost basis on the Avalon house. Uncle Sam is killing me this year.
The reason I'm back on the blog is because interesting things are happening again. Next week, I'll be the proud momma of a puppy girl. I found her at the local shelter this week, and after they spay her next Wednesday, I can bring her home. I'm not sure why the delay, but I'm using the time to get things ready. The backyard fence was completed last week, so as soon as she's old enough and big enough, she'll have a nice big backyard to play in!
