One-Way Ticket to Kona

Today, I bought my first one-way ticket to Hawaii -- non-stop from San Jose to Kailua-Kona on Sunday, the 28th. I'll be crossing the threshold of my new house before noon.

Even if I have to sleep on the floor that first night, I'll be sleeping on the floor of MY house in HAWAII!

The Guardian shipping dudes come tomorrow to take all my worldly possessions to Hawaii.

Moving Date !

The mover dudes come for my things on October 4th.
It will take 3 to 4 weeks for everything to make it across the Pacific.
I want to arrive just ahead of my bed, so it looks as if I'll be moving myself right after Halloween.

6 Weeks and Counting...

My new house has a gardener to keep the place in shape until I get there.
I've got utilities in my name, and an account at First Hawaiian Bank. I've registered to vote in Hawaii in the November elections. I've even been taking practice tests for my Hawaii driver license. I should be moving before Halloween.
And today, I received the key to the house.

I am now officially the proud owner of a gorgeous house in Hawai'i !!
Everything is closed and recorded.

Dear little Margay will not be coming to Hawaii with me - except in spirit. She joined Misha in heaven yesterday. Margay was 19+ years old - approaching 100 in people years. May we all live as long and happy a life as she did.
